Fungi & Disease

In a natural setting, diseases play an important role in ecosystem health and most forests could not survive without them. In the urban setting, where we are often dealing with individual trees rather than entire populations, diseases can and, in many cases, should be treated or prevented to ensure the health of our urban forests.

Just like humans, trees and other plants may be infected with disease when their immunity is low. Lowered immunity is often caused by poor soil conditions, typhoon damages, or other external impacts on a tree. This opens them up to possible infection.

The best time for treatment is before problems start. The second best time for treatment is right away!
